New concept of smart metering and monitoring of energy management and distribution. Designed for new and retrofit applications. It can monitor up to 32 three-phase circuits or 96 single-phase circuits, accessible from a centralized data display. The MCS-I module is suitable for measuring current, power and energy. It has three RJ12 inputs for three single split core sensors or alternatively, using the first RJ12 input a three-phase jam sensor. There are three MCS-I modules ranging from basic measurement to THD (Total Harmonic Distortion), power per phase and overload alarm functions. The MCS-I modules can be interconnected via the RJ45 input/output to the voltage and communication module (MCS-U). It is possible to have up to 32 MCS-I modules connected on one bus (32 x three-phase or 96 x single-phase circuits). No voltage reference is required for the MCS-I module.
The MCS-U module is the voltage and communication module. The voltage reference for the entire system (1ph2W or 3ph4W) must be connected to this module. Connection to the MCS-I module and to the display module (MCS-D) is via RJ45 input/output ports. In case a display is not required, the RS485 output of the MCS-U22 can be used to program or connect to a BMS system or an energy management platform. Through an HMI device, in combination with Eastron ConneX, it is possible to create a centralized point of measurement or end-to-end solution for remote monitoring and data logging.
